Brighton Pier to Pier Open Water Swim - 23 July 2000

On Sunday the 23rd July 2000, Dover swimmers and supporters climbed aboard a coach and headed off to Sunny! Brighton.
This was to take part in the annual Brighton Pier to Pier swim. As you will see from the photo's below, a good day was had by
all. The swim started at 3.00pm from the West Pier and the swimmers had to head off seaward around a bouy, turning towards the
finish down at the Palace Pier. The course was lined with cannoists and boats in case of any problems, however none occured and
all finished despite the Easterly wind that was blowing into the swimmers faces. A slight swell also hampered the race and slightly
slower times were recorded because of this.
